FAQ

DOES MY NEW ROOF REQUIRE MAINTENANCE?

Although your roof does not require regular maintenance, it is recommended that the homeowners stay on a schedule of observing the visual condition of the roof by making sure to keep any debris off of the roof or out of any gutters (branches, leaves, toys, etc.). Observe the lead pipe stacks and make sure that they have not been damaged by squirrels (they love to chew the lead off the pipes and leave the white PVC pipe exposed).

WHEN THINKING ABOUT DOING HOME IMPROVEMENTS, WHEN SHOULD I CONSIDER THE ROOF?

This is a very understated question. One thing that many homeowners do not consider when doing home improvements is the roof and its importance to protecting your home. They also a lot of times do not budget for a roof and then find out too late they they need to include a new roof into their home improvement budget.  Too many homeowners wait until the last second to consider the roof, and in our experiences we have seen that this can make things more difficult on the homeowner.

On a side note, If you plan on painting your house, make sure that think about the roof first. It is better to have the roof done first and then paint. This make it easier on everyone to where we do not have to worry about any accidents with the new fresh paint job.

WE ARE SELLING/BUYING A HOME. SHOULD WE WORRY ABOUT THE ROOF?

One of the best things we can tell people is to consider the room when you are buying or selling a house. It is a very important part of the sale process and can hinder the sale of a home at any time. We have seen it too many times when homeowners want to sell/buy a home but do not consider the condition of the roof as seriously as they should. Roofs can be expensive and can easily sway the sale of house. So, please consider the roof in your process of home buying/selling.

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT PROCESS FOR WORK PERFORMED?

We do not require any deposits or down payments. Full payment is required once work is complete and any necessary inspections have been finalized. We unfortunately do not offer any financing.

ONCE WE SIGN AN AGREEMENT WILL THE HOMEOWNER NEED TO DO ANYTHING ELSE?

The only thing that would be further required from the homeowner would possibly be any permit paperwork that requires the homeowners signature. After that we totally take it from there. We take care of the permit process fully and schedule all inspections. We order all the materials and organize any deliveries or pick ups. We take care of cleaning the yard once we are done in while we are doing the roof we lay tarps around the house to help keep as much debris from landing in the yard as possible.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I NEED A NEW ROOF?

That is a question with many answers. Generally speaking, asphalt shingles can last anywhere from 15-20 years; some more, some less. Some things to look for when determining the condition of your roof would be to look for any active leaks. Check the ceilings of your home as well as any attic space you can access. If you are able, our s ladder up to the roof and climb the ladder, but do not get on the roof. Check for the seal of the shingles to each other. Take notice of the granules that shed from your roof. During a roofs later years you may notice a shiny look on the roof. This is due to the granule loss that has exposed the now shiny fiberglass in the shingles.

Determining the condition of your roof may be hard to do yourself. If you are not able to inspect your roof yourself, please feel free to contact us and we can come and give you a condition report of your roof.
